Color Houston BLUE is the brainchild of Houston based recording artist, Jennifer Grassman, who wanted to establish a series of annual events benefiting local non-profits through the raising of funds and educating of the community.
The word BLUE stands for Believe, Live, Unite, Empower, and colorfully illustrates the objective that Ms. Grassman hopes to achieve through Color Houston BLUE.
Color Houston BLUE will largely benefit locally charities, with an occasional exception for state or national organizations that benefit the Houston area community. The first Color Houston BLUE event will benefit The Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), which operates a 24/7 Hotline (1.800.656.HOPE or click here) where abuse and rape victims from across the US can call or IM in and get free, confidential advice and referrals to their local victim resources.
In the future, Color Houston BLUE will sponsor events benefiting organizations supporting The Performing & Visual Arts, Disadvantaged Children & Families, and Victims of Crime, Cruelty, & Neglect (including animals).
