While JJ Worthen was raised under classical practice, his music is an innovative mosaic of pop, rock, jazz and funk. He performs and writes for numerous genres, and has a deep respect for music and musicians that educate as well as entertain. Worthen recently won Channel 2s Gimme the Mike Houston contest, competing against approximately 2,000 Houstonians for a 2005 Pontiac G6 GT, a two-song recording deal with Sugar Hill Records, and many other prizes. He is also the co-founder of the band and production duo "Hello Love" with cohort Richard Whiting, and works closely with Sugar Hill Studios' Dan Workman. PERFORMING AT RAINN OVER HOUSTON ON JUNE 19!

Hilary Roberts fell in love with singing at the age of ten. She performed in Dinner Theater, TV commercials, voice overs and won every talent competition she entered. Hilary Roberts began writing her own music on piano and guitar at the age of 16. While touring with a band singing 6 days and nights a week, Hilary lost her voice to polyps on her vocal chords. She was told by the doctor that she may never sing again. Nenvertheless, after 2 1/2 years of vocal therepy … she rocovered! She studied voice with Nicholaus Laurienti, Director of The Denver Opera Company, and learned to apply the time-tested breathing techniques of Opera to her Pop style. Now Hilary's voice is as brilliant and and lovely as ever! PERFORMING AT RAINN OVER HOUSTON ON JUNE 19!

Love Street Light Circus is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization that was established in 2008 to promote volunteerism among Houston’s musicians to benefit Houston’s children. They stage unique musical events (in fact, they have their own band!) and work to positively interact with children along the way. They do it because they know that the love you take is equal to the love you make. At RAINN Over Houston, Love Street Light Circus will be performing the entire The Beatles, Rubber Soul album! If you are interested in receiving information about Love Street Light Circus, or would like to make a donation, please visit their website. PERFORMING AT RAINN OVER HOUSTON ON JUNE 19!

Jennifer Grassman is a Texas based recording artist who lives in Houston with her husband, Jason Greenberg, and two cats, Agatha Mittens and Mr. Charles Bingley. Grassman composes original piano and vocal songs which embody her own haunting and idiosyncratic style. Indeed, her lyrics are often derived from classical literature, and inspired by authors including William Shakespeare, Jane Austin, Lewis Carol, J.R.R. Tolkien, and George MacDonald. The media has compared Grassman’s music to that of Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Loreena McKennitt, and Enya, while fans have compared her to the likes of Sarah Brightman. But nothing quite sums up the music of Jennifer Grassman better then the songs themselves. PERFORMING AT RAINN OVER HOUSTON ON JUNE 19!

Lydia McCauley's music is best described as beautiful and passionate. Her song-writing is shaped by Celtic, Medieval, and Appalachian music, an affinity with nature, as well as her own pilgrimages around the world. This combination portrays a journey through the past and into the present as Lydia's songs take her listener to an inward landscape, where the simple truths of her lyrics illumine the soul. The originality of Lydia's songs, and her arrangements of traditional music embody a timeless quality which defies catagorization. Lydia formed the independent music label, Brimstone Music, in 1995 with husband, Kurt Scherer. Lydia McCauley donated CDs to include in gift baskets to be auctioned off at RAINN Over Houston. Thank you Lydia!

Like handmade creations, Terami Hirsch's music is constructed with a tempting blend of tender interest and obsessive fixation. Without the advantage of working in a visual medium, this Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter uses her home studio and lo-fi electronics as her art board—forming deeply personal, highly textured alternative albums. Following her debut, All Girl Band, came To the Bone (2002) and Entropy 29 (2005). Both reflect her emerging interest in electronic sounds, as well as demonstrating more intricate, and evocative subject matters. A Broke Machine is her most recent studio album, and is firmly rooted in the experimental-pop ethos developed over the life of her previous projects.
